Privacy Policy — SocialWise
Effective date: 2026-03-25
This Privacy Policy describes how SocialWise (the “App”) is provided and operated by Burak Öztopuz ("we", "our", or "us"), what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. This policy applies to users of the SocialWise iOS app (the “App”) globally and is intended to meet the requirements of major privacy laws including the GDPR, CCPA, COPPA, and PIPEDA.
If you do not agree with this policy, do not use the App.

We collect information you give us directly and information collected automatically when you use the App.
- Personal Data (provided by you, if you create an account or contact us)
- Device Information & Technical Data (collected automatically)
- Derived / Aggregated Data
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The App is not directed to children under 13 and we do not permit them to register.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use collected data for the following legitimate purposes:
- To provide, maintain and improve the App’s functionality and features.
- To authenticate accounts and secure access (via Firebase Authentication).
- To process purchases, subscriptions, free trials, and handle billing or receipts (via RevenueCat and Apple in-app purchase services).
- To analyze trends, usage, and performance (via Firebase Analytics) and to diagnose technical issues.
- To respond to your requests, feedback, and support inquiries.
- To enforce our Terms of Service, detect and prevent fraud or abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
- To comply with legal obligations and protect rights, property or safety.
- Where you have consented, to send transactional or promotional communications (you may opt out).
We do not sell personal information. If you are in a jurisdiction requiring a “sale” opt-out (such as California), we do not offer personal information for monetary consideration to third parties that would constitute a sale under applicable law.
3. Third-Party Services and Data Sharing
We share data with trusted third-party service providers for operation, analytics, authentication, backend, and AI features. These parties process data on our behalf under contract.
- Analytics: Firebase Analytics (Google/Firebase) — https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
- Authentication: Firebase Authentication (Google/Firebase) — https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
- Cloud / Backend: Firebase (Google/Firebase) — https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
- Payment & Subscription Management: RevenueCat — https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy
- AI / ML Services: OpenAI — https://openai.com/policies/privacy-policy
Additional third-party sharing may occur:
- With Apple for in-app purchase verification and refunds (payments processed through Apple).
- To comply with legal obligations, respond to lawful requests, protect rights, or in connection with mergers or business transfers (with notice where required).
Please review each third party’s privacy policy to understand their data handling practices.
4. AI-Powered Features
- The App uses OpenAI services to provide AI-driven features. When you use those features, the content you submit (including text you type or voice you provide to be processed) may be transmitted to OpenAI.
- OpenAI may process and retain data as described in its privacy policy. Do not submit sensitive personal information (health, financial, highly sensitive identifiers) into AI prompts.
- We may retain logs and metadata of AI interactions for troubleshooting and quality improvement. Where applicable, we limit the data we send to the minimum necessary to provide the feature.
5. Advertising and User Tracking
- The App does not display third-party advertising and does not monetize via ads.
- We do not use user information for advertising networks or behavioral ad targeting.
- If in the future we change this approach, we will update this Privacy Policy and obtain any required consent.
6. In-App Purchases, Subscriptions, and Free Trials
- Business model: Freemium with optional in-app purchases (one-time purchases and subscriptions). A free trial of 3 days may be offered.
- Subscription auto-renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled prior to the renewal date. Subscription billing, refunds, and management are handled by Apple and by RevenueCat on our behalf. We do not receive your full payment card details; Apple processes payments.
- To manage or cancel a subscription or free trial: use your Apple ID subscription settings (see Apple support: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202039). Cancelling a subscription will stop future renewals; you may still have access through the paid period already billed.
7. Data Retention
We retain personal data only as long as necessary to provide the App and for legitimate business and legal purposes:
- Account information: retained while your account is active and for up to 90 days after account deletion for backup/recovery and fraud prevention, unless longer retention is required by law.
- Device, usage, and analytics data: generally retained for up to 24 months, except aggregated/anonymized data retained longer.
- Purchase and billing records: retained as required for accounting, tax and legal obligations (commonly up to 7 years where applicable).
- Support and correspondence records: retained for up to 3 years.
If you request deletion, we will remove your personal data from active systems and take reasonable steps to delete from backups within a practicable period, subject to legal exceptions.
8. Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect personal data, including:
- Encryption in transit (TLS) and encryption at rest where appropriate.
- Access controls and role-based access to systems storing personal information.
- Use of reputable third-party providers (Firebase, RevenueCat, OpenAI) that maintain industry-standard security controls.
- Regular updates and security monitoring.
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we maintain programs designed to protect data.
9. Children’s Privacy
- The App is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or higher minimum age where applicable). We do not knowingly collect or maintain personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected such data, we will delete it promptly. If you believe we have collected data from a child under 13, contact us.
10. Your Rights (GDPR, CCPA and similar rights)
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights regarding your personal information. To exercise these rights, contact us at boztopuz@gmail.com.
- Right to Access: You can request a copy of personal information we hold about you.
- Right to Rectification: You can request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.

- California Consumers: Under the CCPA, California residents may request disclosure of categories of personal information collected, categories of sources, purposes of use, and categories of third parties with whom information is shared; they may request deletion and opt-out of sales (we do not sell data).
- To verify requests, we may ask for information to confirm your identity. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
11. International Transfers
By using the App, you acknowledge that data may be processed and stored in countries outside your country of residence (including the United States) where our service providers operate. We take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards for international data transfers as required by law.

We may share personal information:
- With the third-party service providers listed above to perform services on our behalf.

- In connection with corporate transactions such as mergers, acquisitions, or asset sales (with notice where required).
We only share the minimum necessary data for the described purpose.
13. Cookies and Similar Technologies
The App may use SDKs and similar technologies (via Firebase and other providers) to collect device and usage information. These are necessary for app functionality and analytics. Because this is an iOS app, tracking that requires user permission will only be performed if you grant permission (e.g., App Tracking Transparency).
14. International Users & Global Compliance
We aim to comply with major privacy laws globally (GDPR, CCPA, PIPEDA, COPPA). This Privacy Policy provides information for residents of those regions about how we handle data and how to exercise rights.
15. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When changes are material, we will provide prominent notice within the App or by other means. The "Effective date" at the top reflects the last update.
